Hi,
I am on H1B visa. My parents due to a medical condition cannot take care of themselves. They need someone to be present with them 24 hrs a day. Can I get them on H4 visa as dependent? I would like to keep them for 2-3 years in US and take care of them. Please let me know my options.

Parents are not considered dependents . So i am not sure they can come on H4 visa. I can understand the situation ( being the only son of my parents with deteriorating health ). Once in a while i think of getting rid of this stay in USA and heading back home and caring for the ones who raised me to adult hood.
There may be more avenues , let more knowledgeable people in this forum comment.

It is $305. No additional biometric fee is needed for AP. No FP is needed if you apply on paper. If you efile, USCIS may decide to call you for biometric.

Are you sure that one need not pay for EAD and AP after paying the higher fee once? Could you please tell me where did you see this information. It is mentioned at USCIS website that if you had paid the new fee for I-485, you don't have to pay a fee for EAD or AP, otherwise the fee for EAD is $340 and for AP it is $305.
hopefully if we pay the $340 for EAD and $305 for AP for each person, we do not have to pay for it again until we get a decision on our GC.We just have to keep renewing these two without paying again..Please correct me if i am wrong.So its like pay one last time..hopefully.

High Dynamic Range (imaging) involves creating multiple photos of the same [static] subject at different exposure values (essentially, bracketing). If your I-140 is approved and if your I485 is pending for more than 180 days, you can move to a new employer. In such case you can use your valid EAD for the employment with the new employer OR you can transfer your valid H1B to the new employer. AC21 is about just informing USCIS about your job change, no matter whether you are using EAD and H1 transfer.
Note:
- Informing USCIS is not mandatory, it is a gray area.
- 180 days waiting period is just to be on the safer side. After 180 days of filing I485, invoking of approved I140 by your previous employer will not have any effect.
Hope it is clear.

Need some information on studies while on EAD. I am a EB3 (Aug 2004) and so my daughter too. She is in final year of her graduation and applying for Med schools after a competitive score in MCATs. Got a rejection from Arkansas college as she is not a GC holder yet. So I was wondering if anyone studying medicine on EAD?
Most of the colleges wont say about eligibility while applying and the application does not have a immigration category for AOS, it has Dependent, F1, GC and others. We had to go with Others option, ofcourse specified about AOS in rermarks.

Thanks to all Guys. I stayed with my current and first employer for almost 6 years and paid my H1 dues. Now comes the freedom from immigration process. I am very happy that my wife will not be in limbo status if something happens to me.

according to our calculations in above posts i had hope that i will be eligible to go but today i got my passport and other submitted documents back with reply

Form I-824 was not filed within one year of visa became available. <my name> was born on January 03, 1986. because he (me) is above 21 years old an immigrant visa as a derivative beneficiary of Employment third prefrence (e3) immigrant visa category cannot be inssued to <my name>. In order to qualify for a visa, he (me) would need to benifit from CSPA. Since form I-824 was not filed within one year of visa becoming available on October 08, 2003.

plz help me with right advice and solution so that i can travel with my family.

I am working with American Consulating firm and working with same client from day 1 of my US presence. Will continue with same client after ext.
does, I-140 Approval confirms H1b extension, then I can wait till Aug to file under premium process.
looks like by June, I should have mu I140 case decision.

A1. USCIS will not accept an I-140 based on a required labor certification application if the approved labor certification application is not submitted in connection with the filing. USCIS will not accept a concurrently filed Form I-485 if the required Form I-140 is rejected for lack of an approved labor certification application.

Anyone knows what that means? I have filed 140/485 concurrently on July 2nd 2007. However, I never received original LC document and my lawyer said it is okay to file 140 without original LC document, USCIS will collect it from DOL. Do you think this will affect me?

The only time they keep an original is the first time. After that they never keep the original but return it to you when you return.
My wife and I only had 2 AP originals when we applied last year and made 2 trips outside the US. So relax and dont worry. You're fine.
Got my AP in the mail yesterday but have only 2 originals, last time I got 3 so any idea if I will be able to make more than 2 trips out of the country?
